Late Arrival/Missed Appointment Policy

Purpose: At Houston MRI & Diagnostic Imaging (HMRI), we strive to provide efficient, patient-centered care. To ensure that all patients receive timely services without unnecessary delays, we ask for patients’ cooperation in adhering to scheduled appointment times and providing notice for cancellations. This policy helps us maintain fairness and minimize disruptions for everyone.

Policy: HMRI reserves specific appointment times for patients to meet their healthcare needs efficiently. Late arrivals and missed appointments can disrupt the schedule and delay care for other patients. To prevent this, HMRI has established guidelines for handling late arrivals, cancellations, and missed appointments.

Procedure:

  1. Late Arrivals:
    • If patients arrive more than 10 minutes late for their appointment, the appointment may need to be rescheduled to ensure patients who arrive on time are not delayed.
    • If possible, HMRI will offer the option to wait for the next available appointment on the same day, but this cannot be guaranteed.
    • While HMRI will do its best to accommodate late arrivals, we prioritize maintaining the quality of care for all patients.
  2. Late Cancellations and Missed Appointments:
    • HMRI kindly requests that patients notify the center at least 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel their appointment
    • The center will make reminder calls prior to appointments to help confirm scheduled times, necessary prep instructions, and applicable out-of-pocket costs.
    • If the patient misses an appointment or cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, a $75.00 No Show Fee may be applied.
    • HMRI understands that unexpected situations may arise and asks that patients contact the center as soon as possible if they are unable to keep their appointment.

This policy helps us provide the best possible care for all patients. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
